Music played a large part in our family’s life when my siblings and I were growing up. We sang together at family gatherings, then later we learned to play instruments and were involved with music at school, It came as no surprise when my brother Jerry, my sister Laurie and I started singing as a trio. In the early 1970s we sang with a group from Holly Michigan called The Happiness Singers.
In 1979 my wife Cyndee and I and several years later Jerry and his family moved to Colorado Springs Colorado where we met and became friends with Mark and Linda Warren and their family. Jerry, his wife Esther and I sang together as The Freeman Trio and Linda became our piano player. We enjoyed many happy times traveling with our families and praising the Lord through music.
1994 brought Cyndee and I back to Michigan and I drifted away from singing until sometime in 2000. I was attending a Father, Son Retreat with my Dad and while a singer with 3ABN sang “I Am the Potter You are the Clay” the Lord spoke to me and said he had given me the ability to sing and if I didn’t use it I would lose that ability! A short while later when a friend ask if I would do a concert in Glennie Michigan as a lead in to a series of meetings that they were having at the church there…….I said yes! I have been invited back to do a concert in Glennie every year since then.
In 2003 I was invited to sing for the start of a series of meetings at a church in Fenton Michigan being presented by Pastor Ted Struntz. Later that evening Teds wife Lisa asked me if I would consider singing for Teds meetings on a regular basis…….I said yes!
Cyndee and I have been traveling with Ted throughout Michigan for about 13 years and in that time we have received many blessings, developed a lasting friendship with Ted and Lisa, met many, many wonderful people, watched the Lord change peoples lives and enjoyed praising Him.
We can look back and see how the Lord has worked in our lives and how he has brought us to the place we are at today. We are looking forward to praising Him and presenting Him through music wherever he leads us and we would appreciate your prays as our journey continues.
